About

Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Sarah Burke and I am a professional skier. I grew up in Midland, Ontario Canada and started skiing with my fam when I was about 5yrs. When I got older my friends and I would go skiing at our local resort (308 ft vertical) every day after school. From there I joined the Freestyle club at my hill and started traveling around to different events and competing in moguls. After a few years of that I made it on to the Ontario Team.

My favorite part of moguls were the 2 jumps in the course and that’s where I excelled, as my Mom would say. As soon as terrain parks started popping up I was always sneaking in there. I starting doing big air comps at night with the guys at all the mogul events. I was often the only girl at the comps and competed against the boys for the first few years. I got my first sponsor when I was 17yrs old. I had skipped training for Junior Nationals in Whistler and went off skiing in the park. Before I knew it I was traveling and competing all over the world. Ten years later I am still doing what I love and riding for the best companies out there. I have taken countless crashes and broken many bones but I love skiing more and more every year and plan to do it as long as I am enjoying it. Skiing has opened up a lot of doors for me from commentating for ESPN to designing my own signature suits for ROXY. I plan to stick around for the 2014 Olympics so don’t be thinkin’ I am going anywhere!

I now live in Whistler BC, ski on the Canadian Halfpipe ski team and travel to all the main contests for halfpipe and slopestyle. I have a snowmobile and love getting out and riding pow just as much as being in the park. This year I plan to only do a select few contests, X Games and World Championships, and film/shoot photos for the season. I am really looking forward skiing pow with my friends and pushing my boundaries.

I would never have imagined that a girl from little ol’ Midland, Ont. would be where I am today. So always dream big…you can make it happen!
